The UC3879 is a high-performance synchronous PWM controller IC designed for use in DC-DC converters and motor control applications. This IC integrates all of the control circuitry required for a pulse-width modulated (PWM) voltage mode regulator. It includes features such as an internal oscillator, a voltage reference, a precision error amplifier, and logic circuitry for controlling power MOSFETs.The UC3879 operates over a wide input voltage range, typically from 8V to 35V, making it suitable for a variety of applications. It also has a programmable soft start function and overcurrent protection to ensure the safety and reliability of the system.One of the key features of the UC3879 is its ability to provide synchronous rectification, which improves efficiency and reduces power loss in the system. This is achieved by driving both the high-side and low-side power MOSFETs in a synchronous manner, ensuring that they switch on and off at the right time.
