The NCP1203D60 is a highly integrated PWM controller IC designed for offline power supplies in flyback or boost topologies. It features a high-voltage startup regulator, a voltage source for the power section, and an oscillator with frequency trimming. This IC is suitable for applications such as auxiliary power supplies, standby power supplies, battery chargers, and low-power offline SMPS.The NCP1203D60 operates in a fixed frequency peak current mode with internal slope compensation to ensure stability. It has a high-voltage startup of 60V, allowing for direct connection to the bulk capacitor eliminating the need for a startup resistor. The IC also features built-in protection functions such as overvoltage protection (OVP), overload protection (OLP), and overtemperature protection (OTP) to ensure safe operation under fault conditions.Other key features of the NCP1203D60 include a switching frequency of 60kHz, a maximum duty cycle of 72%, and a current limit accuracy of ± 10%. It is available in a PDIP-7 package and operates over a wide temperature range of -40°C to 125°C.
