The MC14042 is a high speed CMOS quad latch that is designed to operate at either 3V or 15V supply voltage. It consists of four D-type latches with 3-state outputs that can be controlled independently. The MC14042 features a buffered clock input (CLK) for easy cascading of multiple devices, as well as an asynchronous master reset (MR) input for clearing all latches simultaneously. The latch enable (LE) input controls the operation of the device, allowing data to be latched on the rising edge of the clock signal when LE is high.The MC14042 is designed for high speed applications, with a typical propagation delay of 32ns and a maximum clock frequency of 10MHz. It is specified for operation over a wide temperature range of -55°C to 125°C, making it suitable for a variety of industrial and automotive applications. The device is available in a 16-pin dual in-line package (DIP) or surface mount package (SOIC), making it easy to integrate into existing circuit designs.
