With the VIPER38LE, high-voltage conversion reaches new heights thanks to its integration of an 800 V rugged power MOSFET and PWM current-mode control. This innovative device breaks free from conventional limitations by accommodating very high input voltages, making it a versatile solution for a wide range of applications. Its exceptional energy efficiency, coupled with burst mode operation during light loads, ensures compliance with stringent energy-saving standards. The adjustable extra power timer (EPT) feature enhances the IC's performance by allowing it to withstand overload conditions for short durations, demonstrating its reliability under varying load scenarios. The VIPER38LE's integrated HV startup, sense FET, and oscillator with jitter streamline the circuit design process, enabling a simpler and more efficient implementation with minimal external components required. The device is equipped with comprehensive protection features, including dual-level OCP, output overvoltage protection, short-circuit protection, and thermal shutdown with hysteresis, safeguarding the system from potential faults and ensuring reliable operation. With its automatic restart function following fault correction, the VIPER38LE guarantees continuous and uninterrupted performance
