The TPS61086DRC is a high efficiency synchronous boost converter from Texas Instruments. It is designed for applications requiring a regulated output voltage higher than the input voltage. The device can operate from a single lithium-ion cell, as well as from two alkaline, nickel-metal-hydride, or nickel-cadmium cells.The TPS61086DRC features a wide input voltage range of 0.7V to 5.5V and an adjustable output voltage range of 2.5V to 5.5V. It is capable of delivering up to 3A of continuous output current with a peak efficiency of up to 96%. The device is equipped with a soft-start function to minimize inrush current during startup, and a power-save mode to maximize efficiency at light load conditions.Other key features of the TPS61086DRC include a fixed frequency peak current mode control topology, a 0.6V reference voltage, and integrated short-circuit protection. The device is available in a small 10-pin WSON package, making it suitable for space-constrained applications.
