The R5C475II is a multi-function peripheral device that integrates a memory card reader, IEEE 1394 link/PHY, and PC card (PCMCIA) controller in a single chip. It supports a wide range of memory card formats including SD, MMC, Memory Stick, and SmartMedia.The memory card reader on the R5C475II provides high-speed data transfer rates and compatibility with the latest SDHC and SDXC memory cards. It also features a write-protect switch to prevent accidental data loss. The IEEE 1394 link/PHY enables high-speed data transfer between the device and a computer or other peripherals, with support for up to 400 Mbps transfer rates.The PC card controller on the R5C475II supports both 16-bit and 32-bit PC cards, allowing the device to be used with a variety of expansion cards such as wireless network adapters, modems, and storage devices. It also features hot-swapping capabilities, allowing users to insert and remove PC cards while the device is powered on.
