With the option to operate in 8-bit or 16-bit modes via IOCON.BANK, the MCP23X17 offers versatility for different system requirements. Furthermore, the devices feature interrupt pins, INTA and INTB, which can be configured to activate under specific conditions, providing valuable input change notifications to the system master.
