LM2736XMK is a cutting-edge, monolithic PWM step-down DC/DC converter designed for high-frequency operation. It comes in a 6-pin Thin SOT package and provides all the active functions necessary for local DC/DC conversion with fast transient response and accurate regulation. The converter's advanced design, using 0.5 µm BiCMOS technology, enables it to drive 750 mA loads with an internal 350 mΩ NMOS switch, delivering the best power density available. Its operating frequency can be set to either 550 kHz or 1.6 MHz, allowing for the use of extremely small surface mount inductors and chip capacitors. Despite its high operating frequency, the LM2736XMK can achieve efficiencies of up to 90%. It also includes a range of features such as external shutdown with ultra-low standby current, current-mode control, internal compensation, and internal soft-start circuitry to reduce inrush current. In addition, the LM2736XMK offers pulse-by-pulse current limit, thermal shutdown, and output over-voltage protection for high-performance regulation over a wide range of operating conditions
