The ISL6237 is a fully integrated battery charger and power management IC designed for portable devices such as smartphones and tablets. It features a high-efficiency switching regulator that can provide up to 2A of output current, making it suitable for charging modern high-capacity batteries quickly.The ISL6237 includes a linear charger with a programmable charge current up to 1.5A and voltage regulation accuracy of 0.5%. This allows for precise control of the charging process and ensures optimal battery performance and longevity.In addition to the charging functionality, the ISL6237 also includes a power management unit that can provide power to the system load even when the battery is not charging. This ensures uninterrupted operation of the device, even when the battery is depleted.The IC is equipped with various protection features, including thermal shutdown, overvoltage protection, and battery temperature monitoring, to ensure safe operation under all conditions. It also supports USB On-The-Go (OTG) functionality, enabling the device to act as a host or peripheral when connected to another USB device.
