The DSP56364 is a digital signal processor (DSP) from Freescale Semiconductor (now part of NXP Semiconductors) that is designed for audio and speech processing applications. The DSP56364 features a dual multiply-accumulate (MAC) architecture with two 24-bit MAC units, allowing for efficient execution of complex signal processing algorithms. It also includes a 40-bit arithmetic logic unit (ALU) for processing larger data types and a 24-bit barrel shifter for efficient data manipulation.The DSP56364 has a clock speed of up to 125 MHz and supports both fixed-point and floating-point arithmetic operations, making it suitable for a wide range of signal processing tasks. It also includes a flexible memory architecture with up to 2 MB of on-chip program ROM and 512 KB of on-chip RAM, as well as support for external memory interfaces.In terms of peripherals, the DSP56364 features a variety of communication interfaces, including I2C, SPI, and UART, as well as multiple timer/counters and general-purpose I/O pins. It also includes a comprehensive set of development tools, including an instruction set simulator, debug interface, and software development kit.
