The DS3231N+ is a low-cost, extremely accurate, I2C real-time clock (RTC) module with an integrated temperature-compensated crystal oscillator (TCXO) and crystal. It provides timekeeping accuracy within ±2ppm from 0°C to +40°C and ±3.5ppm from -40°C to +85°C. The DS3231N+ has a built-in trickle charger for a rechargeable battery, which can maintain timekeeping for extended periods in the absence of power.The RTC module has two programmable time-of-day alarms, a 32.768kHz output, and a 1.2V low-impedance output to drive a microcontroller interrupt. It also features a square-wave output with a frequency that can be set to 1Hz, 1.024kHz, 4.096kHz, or 8.192kHz.The DS3231N+ operates from a supply voltage of 2.3V to 5.5V and has a low standby current of less than 2µA. It is housed in an industry-standard 16-pin SO package and operates over a wide temperature range of -40°C to +85°C.
