The DS2778 is a highly integrated fuel gauge device specifically designed for measuring the remaining capacity in rechargeable batteries. It uses an internal voltage reference and integrates a precision delta-sigma ADC, accurate coulomb counter, and a dual programmable temperature sensor. This single-chip solution provides accurate measurements of remaining battery capacity that can help prolong battery life and enhance the overall performance of portable devices. The DS2778 supports a wide range of battery chemistries such as lithium ion, lithium iron phosphate, and nickel-metal hydride.It features a 4-wire I2C interface for communication with the host system, enabling real-time monitoring and configuration of battery parameters. The device also includes several protection features such as overvoltage, overcurrent, and overtemperature detection to ensure the safety and reliability of the battery.The DS2778 is available in a small 14-pin TDFN package, making it suitable for space-constrained applications in smartphones, tablets, and other portable devices.
