The BQ7692000PW, part of the BQ769x0 family, is a robust analog front-end (AFE) device specifically engineered to cater to the demands of next-generation, high-power systems. These systems could range from light electric vehicles to power tools and uninterruptible power supplies. With a keen focus on energy efficiency, the BQ7692000PW features sub-blocks within the IC that offer the flexibility to be enabled or disabled to control the overall chip current consumption. Additionally, the inclusion of a SHIP mode allows for the pack to be placed into an ultra-low power state, further enhancing power management. The versatility of the BQ7692000PW extends to its capacity to support a variety of battery chemistries, including Li-ion and Li-iron phosphate, and its ability to handle up to 5-series cells or typical 18-V packs. Taking advantage of I2C, a host controller can harness the BQ7692000PW to implement essential battery pack management functions such as monitoring cell voltages, pack current, pack temperatures, protection control, and balancing. Furthermore, integrated A/D converters enable a purely digital readout of critical system parameters, with calibration managed within TI's manufacturing process. With these capabilities, the BQ7692000PW presents itself as a reliable and efficient solution for high-power pack monitoring and protection
